Staff and pupils were celebrating at The Maelor School where for the fifth year running GCSE examination results have been excellent. This year 98% of pupils achieved 5A-C grades matching the best performance the school has ever achieved. Excellent A Level Results

The Maelor School have achieved outstanding A level results with every student in year 13 achieving the Level 3 threshold (2 or more A levels). The number of A* and A grades has further increased and 84% of A levels taken achieved grades of A*-C. Lesotho Kingdom Walk Raises £4,500!(Posted on 16/07/14)

On Monday 14 July all pupils took part in a sponsored walk up Castell Dinas Bran in aid of our schools link with St Saviour's school in Lesotho. We are delighted to report that £4,500 was raised which will go towards funding pupils and teachers from Lesotho to visit us next year. Members of the Lesotho Commonwealth Team, who are training in Wrexham, met us there and sang the Lesotho National Anthem at the top!

Past student Paige Edwards took to the skies to raise money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Paige's younger sister is currently undergoing treatment at the Hospital and Paige was keen to say thank you for the care her sister has received. Paige jumped from 15,000ft and said the experience was awesome. The school supported Paige's fund raising efforts with a non-uniform day held on Friday 4th July and £430 was raised! Year 7 Castle Competition

Congratulations must go to all Year 7 pupils for all their hard work over the Easter Holiday to produce such wonderful castles.   There were 5 winners (one from each form group) - Sam Parkyn, Robbie Williams, Evan Davies,Ffion Evans and Danny Barker - who were all awarded vouchers and certificates. The Ultimate Castle Winner overall was Maddie Rouse who received the star prize of 4 tickets to Warwick Castle.  Well done everyone!&...

GCSE & A Level Art Exhibition

GCSE & A Level Art Exhibition (Posted on 17/06/14)

We held our first art exhibition showing GCSE and A level students work on Friday 13 June 2014 in the Library.  The exhibition was a great success supported by parents, friends and pupils. The artwork on display was outstanding and thanks must go Krona Spann who supplied the display boards for free and to Mrs Sam Hartigan, Head of Art, for all her hard work in putting it altogether. We look forward to the next one!
