Pupils & facilities at The Maelor School

Information technology

ICT

All students have been working on Google classrooms on a regular basis in ICT since September and have already established their classroom link. They should therefore not require a classroom code to access their classroom.

All students have their hwb log ins and passwords written in their planners. Parents should check their planners if students have forgotten them.

On the stream page I will add notes as I add work. Students have the facility to communicate through this, either with each other, or with me.

I have uploaded some info and worksheets from CEOP onto my google classrooms about staying safe online whilst at home.  There are also links for parents.  I have done this for all my KS3 and KS4 classes. Mrs Fielding

Year 12

Students to go to Google Classroom to find the work. Students to start completing the SLRs for unit 3 ready for next year. There will be 6 SLRs set over the next few weeks. Students can use their Computer Science Books to read about the SLR topic first (the pages will be signposted on the front of the SLR). Students can also watch the videos from Mr Collins’s Computer Science Revision Website which will also be linked on the front of the SLR. I will also set 2 past papers from unit 3 for students to complete.

Year 13

Students need to complete their Coursework through Google Classrooms. Students must finish the ‘Testing’ element worth 10 marks and the ‘Evaluation’ element worth 15 marks. This is just in case the exam board request it. Dates for when they are due will be set on Google Classroom. Students can also take this opportunity to improve all other aspects of the coursework if they need to.

Google Classroom. Students log into Google Classroom using their HWB accounts. All students have done this before so know their Usernames and Passwords. If there are any technical difficulties please email either ITsupport@maelorschool.org.uk or richard.collins@maelorschool.org.uk.
