Year 7, 8 & 9 have a reading log and spelling booklet to work on every week. In addition to this, new tasks will be uploaded on a week by week basis.

W/B 20/04/2020 If you are in Miss McCarthy, Mrs Peters or Mrs Hatton-Jones' class, you should complete the work on 'Can you sell a house?' If you are in Ms Blezard, Mrs Hughes or Mr Nevitt's class, you should complete the work on 'Flog that house'. The 'Planet Perfect' is suitable for everyone, should you require more work. Remember to email your completed work to your teacher. I've also attached a spelling booklet. In it, there are 7 'Rules'. You should aim to complete one rule per week.

Year 10:

Well done to so many of you for joining Google Classroom and engaging with speech planning! There are some amazing ideas and we can’t wait to hear them when we’re back in school.

This term we will focus on Literature. Each of you was given (or posted) a copy of Heroes before we broke up. (If there’s an issue, please email Miss McCarthy mary.mccarthy@maelorschool.org.uk)

On Google Classroom, I will be posting 2-3 lessons a week – one per chapter. There are a range of activities on each chapter, starting with comprehension and moving all the way to evaluation and analysis. Research your topic. Using the internet find the pros/cons of your topic. Aim to find at least one case study to help support your talk. Can you find any statistics which would help to support your views?

Set text: Jane Eyre (Available free online)  

Week 1: Download Jane Eyre (Kindle/Ereader app on tablet/ipad or phone) and read chapters 1-5. When reading, write a short summary of each chapter and start keeping a note of key characters.
