New Covid Instructions for schools

Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Staff.

Last night the Welsh Minister for Education and the Welsh Language Jeremy Miles released a Written Statement. I have attached this statement here; it contains the following:-

“We are now introducing an additional measure, while we learn more about this new strain. All staff and learners in our secondary schools, colleges and universities should now wear face coverings while indoors where physical distancing cannot be maintained…This should come into effect in all settings as soon as possible.”

Therefore, unless exempt we will be requiring all learners and staff to wear a face covering where physical distancing cannot be maintained. This would be in most classrooms, moving through the corridors and in the canteen.

Please ensure that each pupil has one or two face coverings with them as the school supplies are limited. If you believe that you have an exemption, please email Christopher.buckeridge@maelorschool.org.uk so we can create an accurate list of exemptions for our records.
