The Maelor School Collective Worship
Week Beginning : 7th July 2008
Theme for the week : Endings
Thought for the day :
Evolution backs winners. Only the organisms that won the fight for survival, survived to evolve. All others simply came to a dead end. How strange if the end of evolution on earth, is the existence of creatures who can decide to be unselfish.
At the end of the school year, the highlights of any school are drawn together and praised. The school as a whole will have achieved numerous targets and undertaken so many activities for which they may or may not have received public recognition.
However, personal success may be far more significant. If you had set yourself a personal target for the year and have achieved it, then be pleased with yourself and proud of what you have achieved.
Sometimes we need to just be pleased with ourselves and congratulate ourselves for what we are.
As this school year ends, let us give thanks for all the good experiences we shared, and that we were there to share them.
Let us now and in the future hold in our hearts and minds a place for those whose time here now comes to an end.
Finally, let us pray that all keep safe until we meet again.
Dear God,
At the end of this day, this day ends.
And will never return for me to live again.
Therefore, let me live it well.
Amen
All lives, even our own, come to an end. But there is no end to the value of a life.
