Business Studies develops a critical understanding of the internal workings and management of organisations, and in particular, the process of decision-making in a dynamic external environment. Organisations may be large or small, manufacturing or service, local, regional or multinational, profit making or non profit making. Business behaviour can be studied from the perspective of a range of stakeholders including customers, manager, creditors, owners/shareholders and employees. In addition, there are economic, environmental, ethical, governmental, legal, social and technological issues associated with business activity.
The AS modules have the same titles as the A modules. In order to gain a well-rounded understanding of business studies knowledge and understanding is part of both the AS and A Level specification. However, the A Level will further develop higher-level skills and extend beyond the AS in terms of breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding.
