One of the advantages of a relatively small school is the ease of individual contact. Mr J Hobley, a specialist careers adviser, is available to counsel pupils from year 9 onwards regarding prospective choice of occupation.
Mr. Hobley attends all parents evenings from year 9 onwards to help individuals with careers advice. You can also contact him either in school or through the Careers Shop in Wrexham 01978 317015.
Year 11 students have taken part in a mock interviews. The mock interviews were organised by Mrs. Janet Binley-Jones and Mrs. Janet Cross. All students looked extremely smart and enjoyed this valuable experience.
Interviewers came from the Rotary Club, Careers Wales, Army, Navy and Air force, Kellogg's, Glyndwr University and AVOW. Very positive comments about the students were passed to the organisers at the end of the session.
The Careers Wales website has a wealth of information and guidance on a wide range of occupations, training routes and further and higher education options.
Students have free access to the careers library with its own computer facilities that is located adjacent to the library. Visiting speakers provide the employers' perspective as part of the P.S.E programme and a number of trips are organised to careers fairs and work based training activities. Mock interviews with employers from the local community are also an important part of the programme
