Peer Education

In recent years, the school has been participating in the Wrexham County Borough Council's Peer Education Scheme taking pupils from year 9/10 who then take part in a two day training course, preparing them for the various tasks of being a Peer Educator.

Educators are then given the opportunity to run sessions during the annual health days, which are held each year. During which, they teach their peers about several key young people issues such as drugs, alcohol, smoking, healthy eating etc. which has proved to be very successful over the years. As well as this those who show dedication to the course are later given the opportunity to complete a course at OCN Level 3- the highest available qualification within Wrexham County before a degree, highly sought after by employers.

As a Peer Educator, not only are pupils given the opportunity to meet new people and have fun, but it also proves valuable in later life. The course is widely appreciated by employers and teaches pupils a variety of skills and techniques useful for the future.
